Sarah A Chamblee

Sarah Abercrombie Chamblee Aug. 30, 1921 – Feb. 5, 2015 Sarah Abercrombie Chamblee, age 94 passed away on Sunday February 15, 2015. She was precede in death by her loving husband of fifty – six years, George Lewis Chamblee, Sr., parents Mamie and Clarence Abercrombie, Sr. sister, Evelyn A. Madden and brother Clarence Abercrombie, Jr. She was a graduate of Phillips High School and while her husband was serving in the war she worked as secretary in the accounting department of Bechtel-McCone. After the war her main vocation became her devotion to her husband and three children, she was a member of Our Lady of Peace Guild. She was a member of The Club and a past member of Chace Lake Country Club, Cheramis Club and Les Pirouettes Club. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl C. Rodgers ( Larry ), of Jonesborough, Tennessee, two sons George L. Chamblee, Jr. of Anchorage, Alaska and James T. Chamblee ( Josie ) of Chelsea, AL. four grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. There will be a visitation 1 – 2 pm Friday February 20, 2015 at Elmwood Chapel with a Graveside service following in Elmwood Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers any donations be made to Our Lady of Sorrows Building Fund or charity of your choice.
