Patricia was preceded in death by her parents James Coston Ray and Arlene Esther Ray of Tennessee and by her loving husband of 42 years, Woodrow Wilson Mize Jr., who passed away in 1996. She is survived by her brother James Ray (Connie), daughter Kimberly Mize Colvert, son-in-law Anthony Colvert and two grandchildren Nicholas and Sam Colvert to whom she was lovingly known as "Gran".
Patricia attended Springville High School and graduated as valedictorian of her class in 1954.
She received her BS in accounting from Samford University. Patricia worked for Key Royal Automotive Company for 28 years as a controller/accountant, overseeing strategic financial decisions for the company. She retired as Senior Vice President in 1996. After retirement she held three other jobs at CareCorp, Texan and as office manager of the Cardiothoracic Surgeons group at Montclair and Brookwood Hospitals before officially retiring.
Patricia was a member of P.E.O., Chapter D, international sisterhood. A philanthropy that provides financial assistance to help women pursue their educational goals, where she held the office of treasurer. She enjoyed gardening, decorating, reading, cooking and had the fortune to travel extensively throughout her lifetime.
Patricia was a member of Liberty Park Baptist Church where she held several volunteer positions. She was a born again Christian who loved the Lord, was devoted to her faith and cherished her family and friends. Her memory will live on through them.
The service will be at Ridout's Trussville Chapel, Trussville Alabama. Visitation will be October 7, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at 2:00 p.m. Graveside service immediately following at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
