Born in Birmingham, AL on January 7, 1936, to Frank J. Salamone and Frances C. Salamone (Lorino), Pat graduated from Philips High School before earning a Business degree from Howard College (now Samford University) in 1958. At a very young age, he worked alongside his parents at their grocery store, Salamone Grocery, and later went on to own and operate several stores in the Birmingham area. Pat was preceded in death by his cherished parents, Frank J. Salamone and Frances C. Salamone (Lorino). He is survived by his children Frank Salamone, Frances Salamone, Patricia Rosato (Vito), Mildred Bautista (Chuck) and grandchildren Conor Brakefield, Vito Rosato, Angela Salamone, Alyssa Rosato, James Salamone, Scarlett Bautista, Caleb Talton, and Gwyneth Bautista. He also leaves behind his three beloved sisters, Marie Jackson (Frank), Roselie Monte (Sam), Gloria Saab (Ramsey) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be held Monday, December 30, 2024, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Hoover, beginning at 10 am, followed by Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at Elmwood Cemetery. The family extends their deepest gratitude to Susan Cohen, Victoria Muntner, Krissie Aycock, Zack Watkins, and his beloved dog Abby Gail, for their years of loving care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Humane Society of Greater Birmingham (GBHS.org, 300 Snow Dr. Birmingham, AL 35209) or a charity of your choice.
