Mary N Marino

Mary Serio Marino went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, August 6, 2014. She was born in Ensley on July 19, 1926.She was preceded in death by her parents Sam and Angelina Serio, two brothers Johnny Serio and Santo Serio. Along with her late husband Joe C. Marino “Papa Joe” together owned Marino’s Food Center. She was a loving and dedicated wife and her memory will forever be treasured by her children and grandchildren. She is survived by two sons Anthony C. Marino (Denise), Sammy J. Marino (Sara) and daughter Mary Jo Marino, her grandchildren Stephanie Marino Cottingham (Matt), AJ Marino and Brittany Marino. She was affectionately known by her grandchildren as “MeMe!” She attended Moore Elementary School and Ensley High School. She was a long time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ensley where she was a member of the St. Joseph Women’s Altar Society. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church 5514 Double Oak Lane 35242. Visitations will be at 10:00 AM and the funeral mass to follow at 11:00 AM with burial at 2 PM in Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church 1013 30th St. Ensley in memory of Mary Serio Marino.
