Martha Ann Autry, born on February 12,1933, in Birmingham, Alabama, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2024, in her beloved hometown. A quintessential Southern woman, Martha was known for her warmth, grace, and unwavering dedication to her family.
Martha retired from Regions Bank, where she built a successful career, but her true pride lay in her role as mother and grandmother. She was the matriarch and anchor of her family, raising four children and nurturing her four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren with love and care. Her passion for life was evident in her hobbies; she enjoyed gardening, playing bridge, and indulging in her favorite treat ice cream.
Martha also found joy in watching singing competition shows, including "American Idol" and "The Voice," as well as true crime shows like "Dateline." She was known for her cheerful spirit and her saying, "Never leave the house without lipstick," which reflected her belief in presenting herself with elegance. Her legacy of love, kindness, and family devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Martha is survived by her siblings, her four children, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Autry.
