Linda Cardwell

Linda Faye Cardwell went to her eternal home prepared for her by her Savior the Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday afternoon, November 17th at 2:40 after a long battle with her health and lastly a major stroke.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Wilson; Grandmother, Willie Easterwood; brothers, John Thomas, and Wilton Thomas. She is survived by her husband Gerald Cardwell; her three sons Stephen Cardwell (Lucy), Craig Cardwell (Angie) and Mark Cardwell (Shelley). As well as grandchildren: Jeremy Cardwell, Heather Stokely (Wesley), Justin Cardwell (Katy), Janae Cardwell, Nathan Cardwell (Caitlin), Emily Odonnell (John) and Alyssa Butts, along with many wonderful great-grandchildren.

Linda, affectionately known as “Nanaw” by her grandchildren was a loving and loyal wife to her husband of 63 years. During that time, she raised three boys, making sure their needs were met, all while working a full-time job, by giving sacrificially as only a mother could do.

Linda enjoyed participating in volunteer work at the hospital after she retired from Motion Industries. She always loved giving and doing things for others. She spent many wonderful hours in the mountains camping in Cades Cove with family. She also had many wonderful memories with her good friends Jewel Ingram and Rosanne Jones.

Linda and Gerald were members of Friendship Baptist Church they attended faithfully until her health would not allow her to get out.

Services will take place at Friendship Baptist Church on November 20th. Visitation will begin at 11:30-12:00 for the family, 12:00-1:00 for friends and the funeral will start at 1:00.
