Lee-Michael Edwards passed on to his eternal home at 38 years old on the tenth of May, 2023. He took his last breath in this valley of tears surrounded by family as they prayed The Our Father. He was born in the desert during a raging sandstorm that never ceased a moment in his life. Intelligence, genuine sweetness, and an easy laugh wrapped in a handsome smile, with piercing blue eyes, were his trademarks. Full of mercy and compassion, he never met a stranger, he was a “simple-kinda man” as the lyrics go. He was an inspiration to many. A valiant warrior who fought cancer for fifteen years. His journey was published in medical journals.
Lee graduated with honors from the University of Alabama and tormented his father and Auburn loving family through many Iron Bowls and National Championships. He was Uncle Lee to Lyla, and godfather to Maxwell, whom he referred to as his Boo-bears. He was a talented accountant, slated for partnership in a firm which handled billion-dollar accounts and estate planning for the international rich and famous.
Lee was preceded in death by his sister, Jennifer Nicole and survived by his parents John and Coni Edwards, brother Brian Edwards (Kristen, Lyla, Maxwell), grandparents and multiple aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
A funeral Mass will be held at the Cathedral of St. Paul 2120 3rd Ave. North, B’ham, AL 35203 on Tuesday 5/16/2023. Visitation begins at 9:00 AM with Mass following at 10:00 AM. There will be a private interment following the Mass for the family.
