John Clark Somers of Sterrett, AL, age 58, passed away on January 6, 2021. John was born to George Frederick and Barbara Hand Somers in Toronto Canada, soon after he was born the family moved to Mountain Brook, AL. In his early life, John was an avid runner and was a member of a state championship cross-country team. John attended Auburn University and was a member of Sigma Epsilon Fraternity. John married his wife Jennifer McClendon Somers in 1989 and they have a daughter, Katherine (Katie) Elizabeth Somers. During John’s career, he worked in the hospitality, finance and security industries. When John was not at work, he enjoyed working in the yard, playing with his dogs and spending time with his family. John was preceded in death by his mother Barbara Hand Somers and is survived by family members that dearly loved him including his wife Jennifer, Daughter Katie, Father George Somers, Step Mother Lillian Henry Somers, sister Melanie Somers Frusterio (Chuck), Brother George Frederick Somers Jr. (Beth). At this time, there is no visitation planned and a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date for friends and family to celebrate the life of John Clark Somers.
