WILLIAMS, JR., JAMES H. age 86 of Birmingham passed away Friday, November 25, 2011. He was born August 8, 1925 in Wylam, AL to James Henry and Mary Emma Weldon Williams. He graduated from Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn) and earned a Master's Degree in Engineering from UAB. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Central Pacific and received an Honorable discharge in 1946. On August 6, 1950, he married Tommie Sue Naramore at Parkview Baptist Church in Birmingham. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church followed by Huffman Baptist Church. He served as a Deacon, a Choir member, and a Sunday school teacher at both churches and he wrote and acted in a number of plays at Huffman. Mr. Williams is preceded in death by his wife, Tommie Sue Williams; son, James H. Williams, III; and mother- and father-in-law, Marjorie and Lecil Naramore. He is survived by his sons, Steven (Vickie) Williams of Odenville, AL and Gary Williams (Katherine Hirsh) of Birmingham, AL; sister, Helen Bailey of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren, Corey and Carson Williams, Kang Williams, James Mark and Judy Fisher; and four great grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 10:00 am at Ridout's Elmwood Chapel followed by a graveside service at 11:00 am in Elmwood Cemetery. Military honors will be rendered at the graveside.
