Forrest T. Sears of Birmingham died peacefully at his home on December 31st. He lived to the age of 99 and was in good health almost until he passed. He was a native of Birmingham. His parents were Frank L. Sears and Videssa (Glidewell) Sears. He is survived by his wife of 42 years Esther Sears. His daughter Sherry, husband Steve Rousseau and granddaughter Stephanie. His son Casimir Szymoniak; wife Jill and his granddaughter Olivia and grandson Asher. As well as his sister, Merlee Wagner. His brothers Frank Jr., Robert and sisters Lib and Ruth preceded him in death. He attended Ramsay High School.
Following graduation, he worked at United States Steel. Then joined the United States Army Air Corp in 1942. Upon discharge from the military, he went to work for his family business. He ran Alabama Auto Trim with his brother Frank Jr. until he retired at the age of 79. Forrest and Esther then moved to Logan Martin Lake for seventeen years. They eventually moved in with his son Cas and his wife Jill for the remainder of his life. He was a loving Husband and Father. He will be missed by all that knew him.
A graveside service for Forrest will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Elmwood Cemetery & Mausoleum, 600 Martin Luther King Jr Dr, Birmingham, AL 35211.
