Denise Mills Rice of Birmingham, Alabama passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday June 3, 2018 at the age of 60.
Denise will be lovingly remembered by her two children, daughter, Brianna McDonald and son, Cameron Rice and his wife Mallory; grandchildren Mackenzie McDonald and Finley Rice; her mother Geraldine Mills; her two sisters, Dawn Mills and Kay Seward and their families.
She was preceded in death by her father James Mills and her brother James Mills Jr.
Denise worked as a bookkeeper for over 30 years. At the age of 58, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, along with other honors.
Passionate and generous in charity, Denise supported Compassion International and the Lovelady Center. She was also a member of Trussville First United Methodist Church. Family and friends knew her as a kind and considerate soul with an extraordinary intelligence and creativity. She was devoted to her family and dedicated to her work and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
