Carolyne Adkins Gerelds

Carolyne Adkins Gerelds, age 76 of Greenpond, AL. Carolyne took her last breath on earth and her first breath in Heaven on December 15, 2024, surrounded by her loving family and pets. Carolyne was a devoted Christian, Mom, Mother-in-law, Memaw, Meme, Sister, Aunt, and Friend to many. She was also taken in by the Hopkins/ McElroy family as their own.

Carolyne is preceded in death by her parents, James Comer Adkins and Mamie Adkins. Her two brothers, Floyd and James Adkins; brother-in-law, Jim Haynie; husband, Herbert Scott Chaffin Sr. and three Grandbabies.

Carolyne leaves behind her two loving sons, Shane Adkins and Brannon Gerelds. Daughters-in-law, Shelly Gerelds and Ginger Adkins; her precious Grandchildren, Darren Adkins (Kristen), Rhianna Fuller (Blake), Hunter Gerelds, Heather Gerelds Huggins (J.T.), Holley Gerelds (Ashley). Great Grands, Carson, Makayla, and Layton Adkins, Brayden and Oaklynn Fuller. Her sweet sister, Sue Haynie and Loving Nieces, Sherry, Rhonda, and Robbie. Along with extended family and a host of many friends.

Carolyne was a long-time member of Greenpond church of God of prophecy. She also frequently attended Good Samaritan Baptist Church (Hope Fellowship Church).

Her Joy was her two “Baby Boys”. Carolyne loved flowers, butterflies, crafting, decorating and was a huge animal lover. She was obsessed with all things sparkly (or bling as she would say). She had a heart for souls and was a Prayer Warrior for many.
