Carl Stanley McMurrey was born July 11, 1956, and passed on April 28, 2024. Stanley was preceded in death by his wife, Linda McMurrey; father, James McMurrey; mother, Margaret Evans; stepfather, Oscar Evans; and granddaughter, Felicia Taylor. He leaves behind brothers, Ronnie McMurrey, David McMurrey (Rene), Wayne Evans (Rhonda), and sister, Deana Evans; daughters, Jennifer Sanders (Tim), Stacey Marcus (Alan), sons, Chris Singleton (Tara), Adam Singleton (Angela); grandchildren, Zackariah Taylor (Traci), Darian Sanders (Xamdaa), Sebastian Sanders, Tatianna Sanders (Markielah), Sarah Drake (Troy), Anna Drake, Seth Romano, Luke Marcus, Tyler Singleton (Liz), Blake Singleton, Syke Joyce Singleton, Malachi Singleton, Elijah Singleton, Nehemiah Singleton, Isaiah Singleton, and Jacob Nails; great grandson, Jackson Oden.
Carl Stanley McMurrey was a retired member of the United Association Local 91 - Plumbers, Steamfitters and HVAC Technicians of Birmingham, AL. He served his country in the Marines. He was an avid Alabama football fan and he loved Nascar. Another love of his was fast cars - Mustangs primarily... he loved his "Black Betty" (if you know you know).
A celebration of Stanley's life will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 2pm at Johns Ridout's Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home, 800 Dennison Avenue SW, Birmingham, Alabama 35211.
