WASHINGTON, BILLY GEORGE “MR. BILL”, age 76 of Springville, passed away Thursday, January 07, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Ophelia Washington; brothers, Aubrey, Otis and Tom Washington; and sister, Virginia Garrett. He is survived by his sisters, Jimmie W. Keith and Dot W. Cox; brother, Bobby Washington all of Springville; a host of nieces and nephews; and a multitude of friends. Bill and his mother ran a service station and café at Whitney Junction for 12 years, he then worked at Washington Feed and Seed for many years. He finished his career as a host at Jacks where he made many friends. His family will receive friends on Friday, January 8, 2016, from 5-7 PM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. His service will be on Saturday, January 9, 2016, at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. He will lie-in-state from 10-11 with service at 11 AM with Rev. Mike Glasgow officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
