and Savior on September 25, 2024 with her loving family by her side. She was born on July 12,
1935 to Luther Elijah Norred and Nettie Irene Garner Norred. Barbara was preceded in death by
her husband, John F. Deason, Jr., her parents and her aunt, Nellie Pearl Tanner Hogan.
Barbara was a loving wife and mother. She had a radiant personality and a heart of gold.
Barbara always looked for ways to help others and lift their spirits, thinking of others before herself. She lived a selfless life and will never be forgotten. She will always be remembered for her kindness, generosity and dedication to her family. She was her children’s best friend and they will miss her deeply and forever. Her children know that she is in heaven. But her family won't say goodbye, just see you later.
Barbara was an avid gardener who loved singing, amusement parks and Walt Disney World. She enjoyed nature walks and admired the beauty of the outdoors. She was invited to join the Billy Graham Crusade Choir in May 1972. She was a devoted Christian who remained steadfast in her faith. Her life was a testimony of God’s love through her actions towards others. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
Barbara is survived by her loving daughters, Leslie Deason and Nancy Smith; her sister, Shirley
Mullins; brother, Billy Ray Norred, uncle, Hubert Poole, aunt, Allice Mann and Cousins, Sharon
Stauffer, Lynn Campbell, Genia Cobb, Becky Hatfield and Tammy Howard.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel on Tuesday, October
1st from 12:30 pm until 1:45 pm. A graveside service will immediately follow at Jefferson Memorial
Gardens in Trussville.
The family of Barbara would like to acknowledge Affinity Hospice and express their appreciation
for their excellent service and comfort that they provided.
