Albert Monroe Pardue, 85, of Vestavia Hills, Alabama went to be with his Lord on Sunday, May 3, 2020. Al was born in Birmingham, Alabama on February 27, 1935 to James I. Pardue and Lucille Hatcher Pardue. He graduated from Shades Valley High School and Howard College, majoring in Art. Al married Wynelle Poole on June 1, 1956 and had three daughters, Elan, Rhonda and Gina. Al and Wynelle enjoyed 64 years devoted to each other in marriage and friendship. He was a loyal employee of The Birmingham News for 48 years where he made dear friends and saw many changes in the news industry. He had his own photography business, Pardue’s Pretty Pictures, taking pictures of beautiful weddings for a number of years. Al had multiple hobbies. He was an accomplished musician focusing on the guitar. Al was a talented artist. He was a private pilot belonging to the Civil Air Patrol and the Birmingham Aero Club. Al loved to travel. He and his wife, Wynelle, took many trips across the United States and to Europe. He had a love of life and of people. Al won awards for the intricate model planes he built as a member of the Society of Antique Modelers. Through this society, Al made friends around the world. He was a life long member of Shades Valley Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon. He supported the church in its ministries and had a great number of close friends among its members. Al’s gifts were his grateful heart, loving spirit and outstanding work ethic. He was a friend to all. At the center of his heart was his devotion to his family. Al is survived by his wife, Wynelle Pardue, his brother-in-law, George Blomeley, his children Elan Feagin (Mark), Rhonda Byrd (Stephen), and Gina Gray (Jim), his grandchildren Emily Williams (Travis), Brian Feagin (Greta), Piper Gray, Gregory Byrd, Michael Byrd and by his great grandchildren Linus Williams and Clive Williams and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, James I. and Lucille Pardue, brothers Bill Pardue(Gwen), and Jimmy Pardue (Jean) and his sister Joan Blomeley. Al’s life will be celebrated beginning with visitation on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at 1 pm at Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home, a Celebration of Life service will follow at 2 pm at the Chapel. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
