lived in Riverdale, IL until she married. Benjamin was an ardent
conservationist, raising quails and other birds. He was active in the
Piscateers Fishing Club, which converted an abandoned quarry to a game
fishing lake. He also volunteered for the Riverdale Park District where
a field house was named in his honor.
Janet was a Registered Nurse who served in emergency rooms, a US Army
field hospital, and at a state of the art open heart center at Mercy
Hospital Chicago. As a student nurse she was pressed into emergency
duty when the Oak Lawn IL Tornado of 1967 brought hundreds of critical
cases to Christ Community Hospital.
Janet sang with the choirs at Our Lady Of Grace Catholic Church, Beverly
Hills, FL and St Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, West Dundee, IL.
Janet and her husband Rick were regular singers at numerous karaoke
venues in Citrus county.
Services will be private, and celebrations of life will be held in the
coming months in Florida and Illinois. Janet was an excellent dog
trainer and rescued many dogs. She left her wish that any donations be
made to a local animal shelter.
