Sherrill Diane Rogge

Early last Thursday morning, Lord Jesus took Sherrill on her biggest adventure ever, back home. Through her battle of cancer, Sherrill was as lively as ever, going to garage sales, taking cooking classes and playing cards at the senior center, and even going on cruises with her sister Robin, as recently as 3 weeks ago. As a child, Sherrill was an Explorer Queen with the Boy Scouts, which truly reflects who she is at heart. Sherrill was also a child piano prodigy, being tutored every Tuesday night. She loved everything from classical music to Jimmy Hendrix. With her love for music and hard work, Sherrill ended up winning first place on “HOHOs Talent Show”, and even played with Liberace at an age younger than 16. When the time came, she was asked if she wanted to choose a career with classical music, or a family…and Sherrill chose family. Sherrill had various jobs and touched everyone she had the pleasure of working with. Her favorite job was working for the Loveland Reporter Herald, since she had a dream of being a journalist starting as a young child. One of her most valued accomplishments was writing a love story about her deceased husband, which was published in the newspaper. Sherrill loved people. She showed her love by taking in the homeless, whether humans or animals, sponsoring children in poverty stricken countries, and even funding water wells in Africa. She was excited about life. Every DAY was an adventure, from cheering on her favorite teams, hiking in the mountains, going to garage sales, and rock hunting. Every tree, rock, reptile and insect was precious to her, especially the mountains she called “hers”. Her favorite things were spending time with family and friends; paint nights, playing scrabble with her daughter, shopping for plants with her son, hiking with her granddaughter, and cruising with her beloved “sisto”, along with her nieces and nephew. She loved hiking with Sandy, making new friends, and reconnecting with old ones. Her beloved cats and her dogs were her fur babies that she loved even more than her family, at times. Sherrill is survived by her daughter Lisa Green, son Charles Steger, her grandchildren Maggie Alexis, Noah, Sam, Austen and Harper, her sister Robin, and her many loved nieces and nephew. She is reunited with her mother Bobbi Ragland, her two fathers, Don Braswell and Fred Ragland, who raised her as his own, and her other passed loved ones. Every day she is sorely missed and will forever live in our hearts and amongst us with the memories and love she shared with her family and friends.
