Ronnie James Creech

Ronnie James Creech, age 92, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2024. He was born May 15, 1932 in Oklahoma City to Raymond Creech and Nellie (White) Brown. Ronnie attended and graduated from Central High School. He then enlisted in the United States Navy serving 3 years before being honorably discharged. Ronnie went on to attend OU, and it was at a ballroom dance club that he met Billie and they were married in August of 1959. Ronnie was incredibly smart and had an endless supply of patience, which helped in raising his 4 daughters. He worked as a systems analyst and programmer for the FAA. Ronnie was known best as being a social butterfly. If there was a club, he was in it. He enjoyed having coffee with his buddies every morning, playing checkers online, riding his motorcycle, and was an avid photographer.

Ronnie was greatly loved by many and will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Billie Creech; step-father, Phil Brown; and half-brother, David Creech. He is survived by his daughters, Ronna K Perkins, Lori E. Buthion, Terri Creech, and Linda Creech; grandchildren, Shannon Bryant and husband David, Ben Connywerdy and wife Domonique, and Lucy Jennings; great granddaughters, Faith and Eryn Bryant; half-sister, Jenny Adamson; as well as numerous friends.

A Celebration of Ronnie’s life will be 2pm Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Bill Merritt Funeral Service with interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
