Ricky was born at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City on February 3, 1965, to parents, David and JoLeta Dines
From infancy to 3 years of age his family lived in Bethany and then moved to the Windsor Hills area of Oklahoma city around 1968. He moved to Enid State School when he was 6 years old. While there, he attended Cherokee Park School and Autry Vo-Tech. In March 1985, Ricky moved to the Center of Family Love (CFL)Group in Okarche Oklahoma.
Ricky experienced living in different areas in and around El Reno. He lived in a boys group home then to a duplex in November 2002. He and his companion Sherry, moved into a home together in 2003 in El Reno for a few years. Following that, he moved to a divided duplex. Here he resided with his roommate Mitch. In Feb of 2019, following retirement, he moved to Moore Oklahoma where he shared a house with his roommates Sid and Bryan.
Working and being helpful was a great joy for Ricky. He has worked at Pizza Hut, a CFL greenhouse and workshop, Walmart and Oklahoma Environmental Management Authority (OEMA) recycling, where he retired in 1991. Following retirement, he enjoyed helping out his sister Dianna at her clinic, and delivered meals to others. Ricky liked to be a hard worker and would do many jobs when they were needed, shredding paper, house cleaning, and other activities that he could do to be helpful. When asked what other jobs he would like to do, he wanted to work at a daycare to help with the little ones.
Ricky received many awards, such as employee of the month at Walmart and a Governor’s Award for Excellence in Employment the fall of 2001. This was for suggesting an accommodation to his work station environment.
Ricky enjoyed many activities. He participated in Special Olympics every year in Stillwater and was on a bowling team. Sports and activities was also a big interest of his. He was an avid fan of OU, Dallas Cowboys and Thunder games, fishing and swimming. He also enjoyed cooking and playing games on his Ipad.
He is survived by his parents, his sister, Sherri and husband Rick Craig, sister, Dianna and multiple nephews and nieces as well as extended family. For Ricky, his surviving family also includes all who he lived with helped him on a daily basis.
Ricky had a great love of entertaining others. He loved singing, dancing and enjoying life to the fullest.
Visitation will be 2pm-5pm Thursday at Bill Merritt Funeral Service.
Services will be 10am Friday at Bill Merritt Funeral Service with interment to follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
