Raymond G. Weldon, age 85 of Smyrna, died Friday at the York VA Medical Center. He was a native of Yukon, Oklahoma and a son of the late C.B. an Esther Weldon. He was also preceded in death by his wife Toni Weldon; a sister, Dorothy Hambrick; and brothers, Bobby Weldon and Charlie Bill Weldon, Jr.
Survivors include a son, Mike Weldon and wife Anna of Murfreesboro; a daughter, Kim Thorne of Christiana; grandsons, Alex, Chris, and Adam Weldon, Kyle Townsend, Garrett and Chandler Thorne, all of Murfreesboro; a great grandson, Michael Townsend of Murfreesboro; one surviving sister, Joanne Weldon, and a host of other loving family and friends.
Mr. Weldon was a United States Army Veteran who served during the Korean War, and a family man who loved spending time with his family in the outdoors hunting, fishing, and riding his four wheeler. He was a self-employed grading contractor most recently working with Ole South Properties.
Funeral services will be 2pm Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Bill Merritt Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
