Mary Jane McKye was called home to heaven after a courageous, 4 year battle with Pancreatic Cancer where she was surrounded by all of her loved ones at her home on a beautiful sunny fall day on September 25, 2024 at 63 years of age.
Mary was born Mary Jane Pearson on April 21, 1961 to Harold J.E. Pearson and Gloria (Chaput) Pearson in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Preceding Mary in death were her parents, Harold Pearson, Gloria Pearson, & Father-in-law Marshall Mckye. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Daniel McKye. She is the loving mother of 4 children, Ashley (Brad) Thompson, Jessica (Joey) Colombo, Zach (Kaleah) Moates and Isaiah McKye. She is the proud “Mimi” to Braden David Thompson, Macy Jane Thompson, Hunter Scott Moates, Isabella Rose Colombo, Giuseppe Paul Colombo, & Giovanni Joseph Colombo. She was an adorning sister to John Pearson, Martha Pearson, Mark (Connie) Pearson, Michael Pearson, & Becky (Steve) Garner. She is the cherished Aunt to many nieces and nephews. She has so many friends that mean the world to her and never met a stranger.
Mary was a 1979 graduate of Putnam City West High School. She had a love for nursing since she was 4 years old, which led her to pursue a degree in Nursing at OSU-OKC University and upon graduation began a 41 year career as a Registered Nurse. She had an insatiable love for curiosity and spreading knowledge throughout her entire life. She was always known by her family as a “Go-go girl” and had an enthusiasm for life that inspired everyone around her. She showed us that some of the best memories are made through spontaneous adventures and living in the moment. She always took time to enjoy the little things, which taught us all to remain humble. She had a passion for cooking, gardening, wildlife, the outdoors, fishing, and never took a sunset for granted. She had an infectious personality, displayed immense generosity and compassion for everyone around her, but most of all was a devoted Christian that shared God’s love through the path that she walked and serving God’s people every chance she had. Her presence will be truly missed. Mary’s legacy will be carried on by all of those that were so fortunate to have known and loved her.
…”If you wish to have flowers delivered to the funeral home for the Sunday visitation, then deliveries will have to be scheduled prior to Sunday since most Florists are closed that day. Thank You”
