Madoline (Ila) Lynn Williams left to reside with her heavenly father Wednesday, February 1, 2017 from the Ponca City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where she had been a resident for the past six years.
Madoline was born February 26, 1915 to Merica Ann Tramel and Charles Herbert Lynn in Ceres, Oklahoma. She graduated high school at Red Rock, Oklahoma and moved to Oklahoma City where she contributed to the war effort as a machinist for McDonald Douglas. After the war she worked for Elko Photo Lab, earned a Cosmetology license and opened her own beauty shop in 1953.
She raised two children, Frank Patrick Williams of Oklahoma City and Helen Marie Widner of Ponca City. She moved to Ponca City in 2001 and was active in the Iris Garden Club. She enjoyed instant film photography and ceramic crafting. Madoline lived life to the fullest and having visited Japan and Germany, as well as nearly every state in America, she loved to travel.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Lala Morris and Helen Chadwell. She is survived by her children, two granddaughters, Robyn Corbin of Sudbury, MA. and Kristal Strawn of Yukon, OK. Mrs. Williams has a grandson, Vince Corbin of Houston, TX and four great grandchildren.
A celebration of Madoline’s’ life is will be announced at a later date. Contributions in her name may be made to The Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Ponca City or The Ponca City Humane Society.
