After she graduated high school in Claremore, she moved with her family to Alva, OK. She attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University. While at college Carolyn met the love of her life, Duane Stevenson. They married on October 11, 1968 and remained so for almost 44 years until his passing in 2012. She worked multiple jobs as a bookkeeper and substitute teacher. She relocated a few more times before settling close to her daughters in Oklahoma City. Carolyn spent her time with her family, volunteering with the Hugs Project, cooking at church, crafting, and traveling. She was proud of her heritage and spent many hours compiling her ancestry. She was creative, talented, independent, and intelligent. Carolyn was a light in the darkness for so many. She was an avid Star Trek and OU fan. She was always up for a trip to the casino. She loved plays, concerts, and would most likely be found wearing her favorite color, purple. She went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 30, 2022.
