Allison Elizabeth Rogers, age 76, passed away Monday, August 7, 2023. She was born August 27, 1946 in Atlanta, Georgia to Charles Augustus and Nell (Allison) Sheldon. Her dad was a pastor and they lived in various places until settling in Oklahoma. Allison was a fierce competitor and multi-sport athlete in high school including badminton, tennis, basketball, and volleyball. After high school, she went on to attend Central State University where she received her bachelor’s degree in Education and her master’s degree in English. She taught middle school for 34 years in the Oklahoma City area. She loved her students and she never thought of teaching as a job. She married the love of her life, Billy Rogers, on June 2, 1984 and they enjoyed 40 years of love, patience, and adventure before he passed away on March 20, 2023. They were members of Church of the Savior Presbyterian. Allison was well educated and loved to impart knowledge to not only her students, but her family and friends as well. Allison raised two sons and she was their biggest fan and supporter. She made it a point to be at every game and ring her cowbell the loudest. Allison enjoyed playing in the hand bell choir, playing the piano, water skiing, gardening, and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Rogers; and brother, Charles Sheldon, II.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Landon Curtis, Brooks and Kim Curtis; grandchildren, Blake Curtis and Keegan Curtis; brother, Andrew Sheldon; as well as a host of other family members and friends.
A Celebration of Allison's life will be held 10am Monday, September 25, 2023 at Church of the Savior.
