Joann graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. She taught for several years at both Central and Westside High Schools in Omaha, Nebraska, before moving to Bentonville in 1992.
She was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church where she was in the Altar Guild, Quilt Club and Prayer Shawl Ministries. She was also active with Mother to Mother Ministries and the Arkansas PEO Chapter U.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Hans Richard Roehl; daughters, Deborah Roehl and husband Kevin Cronin of Overland Park, Kansas, Karen Roehl-Sivak and husband John W. Sivak, III, of Novato, California; grandchildren, Seanna Cronin and Ross Cronin; and great grandchildren, Mikalah and Kaitlynn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 10, 2011, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, officiated by Rev. Stacy Seger.
