Charles Albert “Chuck” Schneider, age 83, of Bella Vista, AR died Sunday, August 14, 2011 at his home in Bella Vista. He was born February 24, 1928 in Bismarck, ND to Henry Schneider and Elsie Lipke Schneider.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, JoBeth “Jodi” Schneider, 6 children, Stephanie Gibson and husband Ron of Bella Vista, Mary White and husband Tom of Colorado, Stephen Schneider and wife Margie of Springdale, AR, Julie Blaney and husband Dan of Rogers, AR, Terri Schneider of Santa Cruz, CA, and Linda Wright and husband David of Centerton, AR,10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, two sisters Marian Haltiner and Mildred Grufman, both of St Paul, Minnesota and many nieces and nephews.
Chuck served in the US Navy as a pilot aboard the USS Intrepid during WWII. He spent 25 years in the fire service in Santa Cruz, California as a firefighter, fire captain and served the last ten years of his career as Fire Chief. He retired in 1980 and moved to Northwest Arkansas. He served on the Board of Directors of the Salvation Army and was an active member of Kiwanis Club.
A military interment will be held Friday, August 19, 2011 at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville at 10 am. There will be a Memorial Service Saturday, August 20, 2011 at
10 am at Bella Vista Community Church.
Chuck’s interests included his church, spending time with his family and friends, boating and fishing, travel, and music.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
