Charlean Howell

Charlean Lynch Howell (82) passed away September 4, 2020 in Springdale, Arkansas. Charlean was born May 18, 1938 in Morrilton, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Rupert Lee Lynch and Gusta Mae Blue Lynch. She married Billy Forrest Howell on December 17, 1957 in Morrilton, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Lee Lynch Lilley of Little Rock, Arkansas and a son, Malcolm Forrest Howell of Bentonville, Arkansas.

She was a member of the church of Christ since April 1949 and most recently attended the congregation at Robinson Avenue in Springdale, Arkansas.

She graduated from Morrilton High School in 1955, attended Arkansas State Teachers College (now UCA) in Conway and was an administrative assistant for many years. She fulfilled that role with excellence, and her kind ways blessed everyone she worked with. Over the course of her career, she served at Southern Christian Home in Morrilton, Arkansas, Harding University and Searcy Medical Center in Searcy, Arkansas, from which she retired in 2003. That same year, she and Bill moved to northwest Arkansas to be near family. She enjoyed being closer to Malcolm and Stephanie, and she especially loved watching her granddaughters, Katherine and Emma, grow up. Living close to them allowed her to enjoy many of their activities and special moments.

She was dearly loved by her husband, Bill, to whom she was married for 62 years. She was adored by her son, Malcolm, and her love for him knew no bounds. Stephanie and the girls will always remember her sweet spirit, gentle kindness, and the way she was always thinking of and serving others. Charlean was a joy to know and will be greatly missed by her family, extended family, and many friends. She was a blessing to all who knew her.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Howell, daughter-in-law, Stephanie Howell and granddaughters, Katherine Marie Yates (Addison) and Emma Forrest Howell.
