Ruth Isabelle (Engle) Morris, 95 of Warrensburg, MO passed away Monday, November 11, 2024, on Veterans Day in the Warrensburg Veterans Home. Five of her family members were present to witness the Final Salute.
Ruth was born May 29, 1929, in Boicourt, Kansas to Fred and Minerva (Upham) Engle. She was the youngest of 8 children. She grew up in the Pleasanton, Kansas area.
Rugh enlisted in the United States Navy in 1951, and after honorable discharge she enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1955. While in the Air Force she met her future husband, Robert Morris and they were united in marriage on August 20, 1960, and celebrated 55 years together. As an Airman, she was stationed in Germany and worked in finances. Other stations served were in Alaska, California, Florida and Washington D. C.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and all 7 siblings. She survived by 7 nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews, her Warrensburg VA Home family and the many surviving friends that she met along the way.
Burial will be beside her husband at the Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake, North Carolina.
