David Samuel Corbett III passed away on June 5, 2016 in Lakewood, California. He had been in ill health for the past few years. He was born on March 19, 1962, in Lakewood, California to parents David Corbett, Jr. and Geraldine Wassenaar. David lived in Lakewood for his entire life.
David attended McArthur Elementary School, Bancroft Junior High and graduated from Lakewood High School in 1980. He played JV football while in high school and was also involved in sports activities at Del Valle Park.
David worked as a welder and boiler maker, and worked for OFCCO Construction, Manleys Boiler Repair, Shoreline Boiler and also The City of Lakewood. In later years, he worked with computers and was a Certified Computer Technician.
David is survived by, his parents, Geraldine “Jeri” Dose (Louis Dose) of Chino Hills, California and David “Jim” Samuel Corbett, Jr. (Leona) of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; sister Dana Corbett Smith of Riverside, California; aunts, Darlene Corbett and Joyce Schoon (Allen) both from Arizona, and uncle, Joe Wassenaar (Faye) of Downey, California, as well as a host of other family and friends. He will be missed by all.
There will be a graveside service on Thursday, June 16 at 11:00am, at Green Hills Memorial Park, located in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, and a memorial service on Friday, June 17 at 11:00am, at Whites Funeral Home in Bellflower, California. All are welcome to attend.
