Bill was born March 13, 1955 in Moscow, ID to Ray and Betty Trimble Wernecke. He grew up in Moscow and attended Moscow Schools. He was involved in Cub Scouts and was involved with Football and Wrestling in High School. He loved to hunt pheasants with his german shorthair’s, the NY Yankees, ’57 Chevy and ABC Concrete. He graduated from Moscow High School in 1973, worked at Crites Pea Warehouse and later worked as a concrete finisher for Rausch Construction.
He married Patti Beloit on May 23, 1981, and they later divorced. He then moved to Bellevue, WA and married Carla deHoog on September 23, 1989 in Issaquah, WA. He started ABC Concrete in 1990 and was still owner at the time of his death.
Surviving are his wife, Carla, daughters, Lindsay and Kelli, and son, Andrew. He leaves behind his parents, Ray and Betty Wernecke; his sisters, Cheryl (Chuck) Baysinger), Linda Jacobs; brother, Brian (Jodi) Wernecke; several nieces and nephews, and his german shorthair “Smokey”.
Bill had a zest for life and had the best one-line vocabulary that you ever heard. He was the “Best Provider” that anybody could of asked for and he loved his kids above anything else. We will truly miss you – Billy “Ho Ha” Wernecke.
A funeral service was held at Sunset Hills Funeral Home on June 29, 2011 and at Short’s Funeral Chapel on July 1, 2011. He was later laid to rest at the Moscow Cemetery, where his Grandpa William was also laid to rest.
Our heartfelt thanks goes out to the huge outpouring of love and support we have received in the past two weeks from our friends, our Construction Family and especially from our Cadman and Pacific Pumping Family! THANK-YOU!!!!!!! Carla, Lindsay, Andrew and Kelli Wernecke.
