Born in Circleville, Ohio, to William Kenneth and Elice M. (Bircher, Hogenson) Bell. Virginia was raised by her grandparents, Nelson H. and Ethel M (Florence) Bell in Circleville, Ohio, famous for its pumpkin festival where she reigned at the age of 8 as Miss Pumpkin for the parade. A title that followed her to Ohio State where students called her home town “Round Town”. Virginia moved to Bellevue, Washington, in 1947, met Roger K. Bryan, and with her daughter Gene from a previous marriage in tow, she married Roger. As an executive secretary in the financial division of The Boeing Company, Virginia garnered a 28 year career retiring with several achievements and acknowledgements. She and her husband, Roger, enjoyed a brief stint as boat owners which was soon replaced with a love of Hawaii and traveled there often with friends and family. Several years later, after her husband suddenly passed away, Virginia began to paint producing many beautiful canvases, followed by her unique ability to paint an entire landscape on serving spoons. She also made the best pies one could imagine. She adored her family and was devoted to her several Pomeranian doggies over the years. Virginia had an unwavering belief in God’s love and her family and friends were the recipients of her Christian love and kindness.
Virginia is survived by her three children, Bárbara Elise Chapman (Ray) of Eatonville, WA, Robert K. Bryan (Julie) of Darrington, WA and Gene K. Bryan Mickelson (David) of Bellevue, WA. Her half-sisters, Fleur Crooks and Janine Bell preceded her in death. Her half-brother, Whitson Woodard and half-sister, Connie Bell McGlone, have survived her. Virginia is also survived by six grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren with another on the way.
