On January 20th, 2018 at Edmonds Swedish Hospital, Roy Gardner Jr. 90, was received into the loving arms of the Lord, Jesus Christ, due to complications of pneumonia. He was the son of Elvin and Ruth Gardner, born on December 17th, 1927 in Putney, West Virginia. Following high school graduation, he served 3 years in the Army and went on to be an accomplished landscape designer at Suburban Landscape Company, which he owned and operated, until retirement. He married the love of his life, Audrey, and settled in Kirkland, WA where they enjoyed almost 50 years together. He took pleasure in playing his guitar, loving on his animals, golfing, and was passionate about his faith in Jesus Christ. Roy has always loved the outdoors, gardening, sharing his captivating tricks with his grandkids, and showing his treasured finds. Roy devoted himself to writing faith based poetry and is the author of rejoicing in him. He is preceded in death by his father Elvin R. Gardner, his 5 siblings Nellie Gardner, Carl Melbourne Gardner, Robert Gardner, Harrison Gardner and Bill Weikle Jr. He is survived by his 4 children Roy Hatch, Patricia Johnson, Vickie Taylor, and Steven Gardner, 11 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. He will be missed greatly and forever in our hearts. Services will be held at Sunset Hills Funeral Home; 1215 145th PL SE, Bellevue, WA 98007 on Wednesday, January 31st, 2018. There will be a 1:00pm Service followed with a Committal and a 3:00pm reception. Pastor Merlyn Linden of Calvary Chapel Eastside officiating.
