She leaves her daughters, Kathleen Burns, Laurie Whiteside and son, Shawn Burns; 8 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren, nieces and nephews far and wide. She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Burns.
She was born to the late Philip and Mary (Gorman) Pick, February 6, 1929, in Deer Lodge Montana, the only daughter in a family of six children. Throughout her life, she never forgot the pure joy she experienced growing up in Deer Lodge surrounded by a close-knit community of family and friends.
The family moved to Bremerton WA during World War II so her father could work in the shipyard, where Patty attended Bremerton high school. She went on to attend and graduate from Seattle University school of Nursing, 1948. In Bellevue she worked part-time at Overlake Hospital for many years after that. She had a great love of learning and reading that she passed down to her family.
Her five brothers were scattered throughout the Pacific Northwest so after graduation Patty and her parents moved to Eugene Oregon 1949. There, she met her husband Jim and they were married August 6, 1951. After several transfers, Pat and Jim settled in Bellevue, WA to raise four children. They were married for over 60+ years till Jim’s passing in 2016.
She had many things she held dear during her life, her love of baseball and the Mariners, gardening, sewing, bird watching and her church but family was always her first priority. Her family always knew where home was as she orchestrated large family gatherings for almost any occasion. Her love and thoughtfulness will be greatly missed.
