Maxine Delores was born July 5, 1937 in Atchison, Kansas to David W. Jones and Delores Martin-Jones. She graduated from Atchison High School in 1955. She went on to pursue a nursing degree from the school of nursing in St. Joseph, Missouri. Maxine was united in marriage to Donald Edwards in Atchison, Kansas in 1957 and that union was blessed with two children. She moved to Seattle, Washington in 1968 and made it her home.
She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and used her talents to serve as an active member of the hospitality committee. Maxine could accomplish anything she set out to do.Her business-M.D. Medical was a dream she had which came into fruition in 1992, operating out of her condo. She began her business as its first and only employee, leaving it now to a team of 12.
Maxine had a very generous spirit and it was not uncommon for her to send gifts to all she knew on any given day. She was also a culinary genius and loved to use her skills to entertain family and friends. Not only did she care for family and friends, she also had a passion for visiting nursing homes and caring for the elderly. Maxine was also a proud member of the Red Hat Society Organization.
Maxine Edwards is survived by her daughter Shelly Louise Edwards-McCrorie and son Don Keith Edwards; son-in-law, Robert McCrorie; daughter-in-law, Linda Edwards; and two grandchildren Kendra and Joshua McCrorie; one sister Beverly Watson; one brother-in-law Jesse Watson; four nieces; four great nieces and nephews; a host of cousins; and friends.
