Judith Ann Alexander, known as Judy, was born in Seattle on August 24, 1956. The only child of Donald & Verna Alexander. Judy grew up in Seattle and Mercer Island where her father built the family Home.
Judy attended John Muir Elementary School and St Nicholas both in Seattle. In 1974 Judy graduated from Mercer Island High School, and in 1979 she graduated from the University of Washington, receiving a BA in Communications. Judy was also a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
While in school at the UW, Judy was an intern at KIRO Radio and then upon graduation she was hired by KIRO Radio. She worked there for 3 years in various positions: Production Assistant, Weekend Editor, and Daytime Editor. Then in 1983, she worked for KIRO TV for three years as the Assignment Editor, Weekend Assignment Editor, and Planning Editor. Concurrently during 1983 she worked part time for her father Donald, as the head of his publicity and sales, "Banking for the Non-Banker" and “101 Tips for Women Entrepreneurs". In 1985 she was hired by CBS News as a Regional Newsfeed Producer in Portland, Oregon, where she produced a daily newsfeed around the Northwest for CBS stations. In 1987 she worked for KATU-TV as an Assignment Editor, Weekend Assignment Editor and Planning Editor. In 1995 she returned to Seattle to work at Northwest Cable News as Managing Assignment Editor. In 1997 Judy became a Freelance Producer where she worked for major television networks and shows such as: ABC, NBC, CBS News, Entertainment Tonight, Good Morning America, and the Today Show for several years. She conducted interviews and coordinated live shots in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Canada. While working as a Freeland Producer, Judy received her Master's in Business Administration in 2005 from the University of Phoenix. In 2010 she worked for a start-up internet company. She also worked for Amazon, Office Depot, Macy's and Pacific Market Research.
Judy joins in heaven her Father Donald Alexander, maternal grandparents Vernie & Gussie Hawkins and paternal grandparents Ernest and Irene Alexander. aunts; Cassie Ingram, Teressa Hawes, Catherine Hughes, Cleophus Andrews, Dorothy Vickers, Juanita Davis, Jacqueline Alexander Lawson; uncles Lee Hawkins, Irvin Hawkins, Edwin Hawkins; Gloria Ingram,Darryl Hawes, Fred Mitchell, Vernon Mitchell, James Mitchell, Charlene Allen, Charles Andrews III, Sandy Huges,and Patrice Hughes,
Family that remains to cherish Judy's memory is her Mother, Verna Alexander cousins; Veleda Vann, John Ingram III, Marilyn Taylor, Linda Weeks, Anita Hawkins, Brenda Hawkins, Wesley Hawes Jr., Eric Hawes,Rita Ann Aningo, Hazel Andrews-Travis, Michael Andrews, Sharon Hawkins, Susan Taylor, Gwendolyn Lawson Townsend, Ronald Lawson, Arthur Davis, Sharon Vickers and Michael Lawson; and a host of other family members and friends.
