John Anthony III, age 55, passed away on Thursday May 21, 2020 due to esophageal cancer. John was born October 14, 1964 in Sacramento, California to Harriett and John Anthony II.
John earned a Certificate of Completion in Aviation/Power Plant in 1988 from Alameda College. He started as an Aircraft Mechanic for Alaska Airlines in Oakland. He later relocated to Tacoma, Washington where he continued to work as an Aircraft Mechanic for Alaska Airlines at SeaTac airport for the final 12 years of his 20 year career with the airline.
John was an avid horticulturist and loved being outdoors fishing. He enjoyed creating with his hands: wood working, assembling intricate models, growing corn and planting trees. He also loved sports, especially golfing, football and baseball. His favorite teams were the Miami Dolphins and Boston Red Sox.
He is preceded in death by his father, John Anthony II. He is survived by his mother, Harriet, and his younger brother, Tom. John will be greatly missed by the many people he befriended and worked with throughout his life. He cared deeply about them plus befriended and enjoyed everyone's pets.
A visitation for John will be held Thursday, May 28, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Sunset Hills Funeral Home, 1215 145th Place SE, Bellevue, WA 98007. He will be interred at Sunset Hills Memorial Park close to where his father has been laid to rest.
