Jay Joseph Harmeyer

Jay Joseph Harmeyer of Seattle, Washington passed away on May 25, 2023 at the age of 56. Jay was born on October 4, 1966 in Fort Madison, Iowa and was raised in the small town of West Point, Iowa with his large family.

Jay attended Iowa State University where he was a proud brother of the Delta Upsilon fraternity. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Finance in 1989.

For the last 26 years, Jay owned and operated MBI, an office furniture dealership in Seattle, Washington. He was seen as not only a leader, but a mentor and a friend to many.

Jay enjoyed boating in the San Juan Islands, golfing, and vacationing in his home in Cle Elum, all while spending time with his family and friends.

Jay is preceded in death by his loving father and mother, Dick and Rita Harmeyer.

Jay is survived by his two children: Rachel and Jack Harmeyer, and by his former wife Teri Harmeyer. In addition, he is survived by his four siblings: Jan Karl, Jeff Harmeyer, Jim Harmeyer, and Joe Harmeyer.

Jay was known to light up any room he entered. He was a loving father, son, husband, brother, uncle, and friend. He had a tremendous sense of humor coupled with an enormous heart. He is loved by so many and will truly be missed.

There will be a Celebration of Life held at the Bellevue Club on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 11am. There will be time to visit with family and friends before and after the celebration.
