George Andrew Reynolds

George was born on August 31, 1952, in Santa Monica, California, to Jack and Therese Reynolds. He attended Dartmouth College, followed by Harvard Business School, and began his career in Dallas, TX, at Frito-Lay. It was there that he met the love of his life, Sara Stanley. They married in April 1985 in Decatur, IL, and later settled in Bellevue, WA, after George took on the role of Senior VP of Marketing for Starbucks in 1990. This is where they raised their four daughters. His wife of 39 years, Sara, and their girls were his entire world. George considered his family his greatest accomplishment and enjoyed nothing more than being a girl dad.

Whether it was boating on Lake Washington, walking with his wife, Sara, or snorkeling in Hawaii, George loved being outside. He was an avid traveler and, over the years, visited Tonga, India, Italy, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Australia, Rwanda, Tanzania, and more. George also loved jazz music, gin martinis, reading, cooking, education, and art. He spent many years on the St. Thomas School Board, including time as president, and was also a member of the Seattle Rep Board. His daughters have fond memories of him making them breakfast every day—chocolate chip pancakes and cheesy eggs—and being at every soccer game or dance recital.

Surviving are his wife, Sara; his four daughters, Katherine (Tucker) Hopp, Elizabeth (Peter) Gruene, Jennifer (Don) Bollard, and Hannah (Gage) Sumrall; his mother, Therese; his two brothers, Jack and Phil; his three granddaughters, Ruby and Alice Gruene, and Georgia Hopp; his grandson, Jack Bollard; and many other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack.

George was deeply respected and greatly loved by his family and friends. We will always remember him completing his daily crossword puzzles with his Starbucks coffee and his two best friends, our dogs, Pono and Koa, right by his side. He will be missed beyond words.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 2, at 3:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Church.
