Sandy was born August 26, 1942, and grew up in East St. Louis Ill., where she graduated from East Side High School. She married and moved to Belleville where she lived for years, had three sons and cultivated a lifetime of priceless friendships.
Surviving are three sons, Jimmy Dupee of Dallas, Tex.; Phil “Chip” Dupee and wife Maria of Bradenton, Fla.; and Doug Dupee of Dallas, Tex.; four grandchildren, Jeffrey, John Wesley, Shannon, and Cagney Dupee, and one great grandson Jordan; two brothers, Charles Fultz and Gerald Keith Fultz; two cousins Debbie Sharp and Marilyn Towler Fultz, as well as countless friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother Frances Jewell Laudermilk, nee Allen, and her sister Frances Faye “Midge” Fultz.
Sandy lived in Belleville for many years where she built a career as a real estate agent. Once her boys were grown, she began her fearless adventures of travel including Houston, Dallas, and Las Vegas. She moved back to Belleville in 1985 where she worked at Marsh Co., for many years before heading to Bradenton, Fla. She lived happy in her little home there until her last day. She left a trail of lifelong friends wherever she stopped. In spite of all her travels, the years and the distance did not erode the love for her family and friends. And, regardless of her pain and life struggles, she always managed to spread her infectious smile and help those around her. She not only gave to those in need while she was here, she was a donor in death. Her sense of humor was unparalleled; you could pick her laugh out of the crowd.
A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held on Saturday June 14, 2014, at Valhalla Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Family and friends are asked to bring their favorite “Dupee” story to share in her celebration of life.
