He was a graduate of Culver Stockton College, Canton, MO. He was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity and looked forward to their yearly homecoming. Bob was an educator at the Mascoutah Jr. High for 33 years where he touched the lives of many students. He was a lifetime member of the NEA and IEA. He was also a member of First United Presbyterian Church in Belleville. Mostly, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Gordon Ripley and Mary Ripley (nee Morrisett); brother, Gordon Ripley; and sister, Mary Ellen Whitmore.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years, Carol Ripley (nee Gerlitz) whom he married on June 18, 1960; son, Robert (Greta) Ripley; daughter, Cynthia (Lee) Feaster; grandchildren, Lauren (Liesl), Bryan, Grace, and Benjamin; great grandson, Lucas; sister-in-law, Diane Pitlyk; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
