Pearl G. Eichorn

Pearl G. Eichorn, nee Palmer, 88, of Millstadt, Illinois, born December 3, 1923, in Scott County, Missouri, passed away, Monday, June 25, 2012, surrounded by her family at Columbia Rehab and Nursing home, Columbia, Illinois.

Mrs. Eichorn was a graduate from Beaumont High School in St. Louis, Missouri. She retired as a nurse’s aide with St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, after 26 years; August 30, 1963 to May 6, 1989. She was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church in Belleville, Illinois, and was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Ladies Auxiliary 1739.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Ernst J. Eichorn, whom she married September 5, 1948, and died on June 4, 2001; her parents, George Markham and Lillian, nee Smith, Palmer; and four brothers, Arthur Otis Palmer, in infancy, E. Earl Palmer, Myrle Palmer, and Johnnie Markham.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Kathy (Roger) Keim and John Eichorn; her grandchildren, Stephanie (Derek) Jenkins, Kelly (Dale) Bedard, Jennifer Phillips, R.J. (Cheryl Braymer & Noah) Keim, and Jarred Eichorn; her great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Bedard, Joshua Bedard, Virginia Jenkins, Faith Schulte, Kamala Pearl Schriefer, Kaisar Eichorn, and Deja Eichorn, ; and many dear nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank Columbia Rehab and Nursing Home for their love and care; and also to Heartland Hospice for their love, guidance, and strength.

Funeral: Services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 28, 2012, at the funeral home, with Pastor Brian Downs officiating. Interment will be held in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Belleville, Illinois.
