She is preceded in death by her parents Oscar Dintelmann and Katherine (Trentman) Dintelmann; siblings Eugene and Dorothy; her first husband John Mueller, and sons James John, John Louis, and Thomas Gerard; and her second husband Jacob Reed.
Mary Jane is survived by her children: Linda (Harry) Hutchings, Barbara (Michael) Brueggemann, Ann (Timothy) Smythe; and her stepchildren: Ruby Walls, Carolyn (Marty) Reason, Janice (Brian) Jackson, Pam Miller, Taquincey Goodlow, Antwoyne Miller, and Vernetta William; her sister Rosemary Behrmann; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Mary Jane ran a successful lawn service with her husband Jacob. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, word search games, water aerobics, dancing, cooking for a crowd, and weekends in Branson. She was a social butterfly who was always ready to be pleased by any activity.
Visitation: 11 to 1 pm, Monday, December 16, 2024, at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.
Funeral service: Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 pm at the funeral home, Pastor Larry Ridenour officiating.
Interment will follow in Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL.
Memorials may be made in Mary Jane’s name to the Food and Clothing Bank located at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Freeburg, IL.
