Born September 19, 1945 in Merrill, Wisconsin
Nell lost her courageous battle with Ovarian cancer and passed peacefully at home at 11:56am on October 27, 2018 with her daughter Diana and five grandchildren surrounding her with love until her last breath. Nell fought to the very end so she could stay with her beloved family.Nell was very dedicated to her family, and loved them beyond all words.
Nell met her husband Jerry in Chicago, Illinois whom she met at Kresge. They married on September 21,1963, they were married over 45 years and still in love.
Nell was a housewife for many years, while her daughter was growing up.She volunteered numerous times throughout her life.Nell was a Brownie leader, Girl Scout leader, room mother, Meals on Wheels for seniors, Welcome Wagon, and numerous other volunteer work. Nell eventually in 1984 started working in the bowling industry. She managed centers in Overland Park, Kansas, Belleville, Illinois, and Edwardsville, Illinois.Nell thrived working in the bowling industry. She genuinely cared about everyone in her life that walked through her path. After retirement age traveled with Jerry, and eventually went to work for Kohls in Fairview Heights ,Illinois. A few years after Jerry passed, Nell , Diana, and her five grandchildren moved to Warsaw ,Missouri in 2013 to enjoy the lake life.
Nell enjoyed bowling, traveling, numerous cruises, playing cards, Yahtzee, and Scrabble.
Nell always enjoyed making new friends, and cherished her lifelong friends. She always had a positive outlook on life, always smiling!
Nell is preceded in death by her loving husband Jerry Dean Bateman, grandchild Cody Allen Bateman, Mother Antoinette Larson, sister Nona(Jack) Berray, Brother in law Jack(Sonny) Bateman, in laws Millie(Mike) Ott, great in law Caroline Ott
Surviving to cherish her memory Daughter Diana Lyn Bateman of Warsaw , Missouri. Grandchildren Austin John, Hunter Dean , Julianna Mae, Jaya Lyn, and J'Nell Antoinette Bateman all at the home in Warsaw, Missouri., sister Lois (Gil) Jung (Godparents to Diana)
in Boulder Junction, Wisconsin. Numerous nieces and nephews. She loved all of her family deeply.

Visitation: Friends May call from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, November 19, 2018 at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.
Funeral: Services will be held at 12 noon, Tuesday, November 20,2018 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL.
