October 8, 1945 - October 22, 2024
Belleville, Illinois - Judith "Judy" Ann Marchand, nee Jennings, 79, of Belleville, IL, born October 8, 1945, in East St. Louis, IL, passed away surrounded by her family on October 22, 2024.
Daughter of Leon and Dorothy, nee O'Gara, Jennings, Judy was raised in East St. Louis where she graduated from St. Teresa's Academy. Shortly thereafter, she met and was wed to her devoted husband, Curt Marchand Jr., in 1966. Throughout their 58 years of marriage, Judy lived as a loyal spouse to Curt, a loving mother to her three sons, Curt, Todd, and Brian, and is adored by her seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Judy's family was her greatest source of pride - and her kind heart, steadfast faith, and infectious laugh is the foundation for what makes her family whole. Her love for her husband Curt was unparalleled, and together they served as a model for what a loving and faithful marriage is meant to be. A mother of three boys, she lived as an ever-present source of love and support, a staple at countless ballgames, and her guidance shaped the wonderful families that each of them have gone on to raise. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were precious to her. They continued to bring her joy with frequent visits, phone calls, and countless photos displayed in her home. Judy lived a full life filled with many experiences - most of all though, it was filled with love.
Judy's devout faith guided her days and shaped her loving family. She admired and supported the Poor Clare Monastery of Our Lady of Mercy in Belleville. She gifted many masses offered in her family's name over the years. A long-time parishioner of St. Henry's Catholic Church, she routinely made every one of her family and friends the beneficiary of countless chapel candles lit with a prayer and intention following mass. Father York continued to support and guide Judy's faith through her final days, and the family is grateful for his care and blessing.
Judy is welcomed now by her parents, Leon and Dorothy, brothers John and Bobby, along with extended family and friends who preceded her in death.
Surviving to continue to live her example of love is her husband Curt Jr.; her sons Curt and wife Laura Marchand III, Todd and wife Jennifer Marchand, Brian and wife Amy Marchand; her grandchildren, Curtis and wife Hannah Marchand IV, Kelsey and husband Michael Needham, Tyler Marchand, Justin Marchand, Logan Marchand, Brayden Marchand and MacKenzie Marchand; great-grandchildren, Curtis V, Vincent Marchand, and Jude Needham; brother, Leon "Red" and wife Joan Jennings, sister, Brenda Aramowicz; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
Donations can be made in Judy's memory to the Poor Clare Monastery of Our Lady of Mercy in Belleville, IL.
