He is preceded in death by an infant son John Jr., his parents, in-laws Vincent and Margaret Jarosik, siblings and their spouses Edward Adams, Mary (James) Geiger, Margaret (Robert) Schnittger, siblings-in-law and their spouses Ed Connor, Bobbie (Jack) Belz and Sonny (Elaine) Jarosik.
John is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary (Jarosik) Adams of Millstadt, Illinois; children, Theresa (David Sr.) Baker of Smithton, Illinois, Karen (Doug) Clary of Smithton, Illinois, Kenny (Michelle) Adams of Fayetteville, Georgia; grandchildren David (Vicki) Baker Jr., Theresa (Drew) Dossett, George (Christa) Adams and Jeanna (Jackson) Williamson; great-grandchildren Avery and Ryan Baker, Della Dossett, Lotti Adams and Forrest Williamson; brother, Robert (Barbara) Adams; sister-in-law Frances Connor and many nieces, nephews and friends.
John served in the United States Army then upon discharge, worked in the telephone industry for over 30 years at Western Electric (AT&T) in St. Louis, Missouri.
He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt. He enjoyed spending time his family, woodworking and his St. Louis Cardinals.
A private service with John’s immediate family in attendance is being held.
Interment will be in Valhalla Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Belleville, Illinois.
