On March 23, 1926, our Heavenly Father blessed Mike and Anna Trumpet with a gift of a son, in East St. Louis, ILL; on April 25, 1926 he was baptized into God’s family of believers at St. Peters Lutheran Church, East St. Louis, ILL., and was given the name George Albert Trumpet. He was confirmed in that same faith on 17th March 1940, also, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Following a decline in his health. George was called by Our Lord to be with him on September 2, 2015 at the age of 89 years old. He now waits the Day of Resurrection and the return of his Lord Jesus.
George worked at the Metro East Journal Newspaper for 25 years, he worked in maintenance Dept. at Our Lady of the Snows for 35 years and at Parks Air College for 33 years. George held a Licensed Horticulturalist and owned his own business doing landscaping and growing his own stock of evergreens and trees which he sold. He served in the United States Navy as a Fireman Second Class from October 20, 1943 to November 1944

George was preceded in death by a son, Donald Trumpet; a grandson, Jeffrey Trumpet; his parents, Mike and Anna Trumpet; a brother, John Trumpet; and a nephew, Michael Trumpet.
Surviving are his loving and devoted wife, Mildred Trumpet, nee Wirth whom on October 9, 1949 were United in Christian marriage; a son, Mark (Sheryl) Trumpet of Rineyville, KY.; two grandchildren, Jennifer (Kyle) Stephens of Shelbyville, KY.; and Justin Trumpet of Belleville, Illinois; a great grandchild, George Stephens; and a daughter-in-law, Shirley Trumpet, nee Bowles, of Swansea, Ill.

Services: Funeral Services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the funeral home with Pastor Douglas Nicely officiating.
Interment will be held in Valhalla Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Belleville, Illinois
