Curtis Pool

Curtis Lee Pool, 84 of Aviston, IL, passed away on January 8, 2019. Curtis was born on March 28, 1934 to the late Jewell & Beatrice Pool in Piggott, AR. He was married to the love of his life, Daisy Johnson and together they had a beautiful family of six. He retired from CVS Pharmacy after over twenty years of employment. Some of his favorite hobbies included reading, bowling, golf, and had a fondness for Garfield. Curtis will be sorely missed from family and friends.

Preceding Curtis in passing are his parents; loving wife, Daisy; siblings, Kenneth Pool, Carolyn Johnson, Leslie Pool, Nancy Pool and brother-in-law, Larry McMackins.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his children, Deborah (Brian) Schneider, David (Mary Essen) Pool, Rebecca Pool (Rick Walker), Wayne (Connie) Pool, Ernie (Sandy) Pool, and Larry Pool (Deanna Sherland); grandchildren, Ron (Anja) Carter, Julianne Schneider, April Ippolito, Erica Lehtimaki, Meagan Pool, Eric Essen, Ron (Jamie Prindable) Turner, Leandrea Turner, Tim (Sara) Pool, Christopher Pool, Matthew (Kelsey) Pool, Alexander (Samantha) Pool, Maggie (Brad) Gordon, Matthew Sherland, Wayne Sherland; great-grandchildren Alexandria, Kalyn, Danielle, Emily, Angelica, Navlynn, Army, Daysalee, Colby, Dalton, Katelynn, Breanna, Dylan, Amelia, Mackenzie, Cayden, and Erik; siblings Roger (Helen) Pool, Robert (Debbie) Pool, Margie McMackins; brother-in-law Jim Johnson, and various extended family.

Visitation for Curtis will be held on January 13, 2019 from 5-7pm at Valhalla-Gaerdner-Holten Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be on January 14, 2019 at 10am. Interment will be held privately at later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorial donations are to be gifted to either The Parkinson Foundation or to a charity of choice.
