Carol D. Hood

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Anna (Shave) Smallenberger, one son, John C. Hood and her husband, John O. Hood.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Joyce (Bill) Caswell of Millstadt, Illinois and daughter-in-law Meadow Hood of Hecker, Illinois; grandchildren, Victoria (Adam) Evans, Zach, Brendan, Tristin (Bree) and Stefan (Grace) Caswell, Logan and Sally Hood and great-grandchildren, Emilia Caswell and Harvey Evans. She is further survived by her brother, Arthur Smallenberger, and a sister, Diane Lindblad.

During her life, Carol worked at Missouri Pacific Railroad which was bought out by Union Pacific Railroad. She retired from Union Pacific Railroad. Carol dearly loved her family and she exemplified Jesus Christ in all aspects of her life! She also enjoyed reading, bird watching, gardening, crocheting, and embroidering.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 8th, 2023 from 4:00pm to 7:00 pm at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois.

Rites of Cremation will follow with placement later in Valhalla Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Belleville, Illinois.

Memorials may be made to her two great-grandchildren: Emilia Caswell and Harvey Evans.
