She was born to the late Louis and Molly Yaffee, November 8th 1932, in Newark, New Jersey, and graduated high school in 1950. She married her husband, the late Sidney Goldman in 1952 and they lived together in New York for many years before relocating to Houston in 1992. Sheila is survived by two children: Steven Goldman, of New Caney and Jeff Goldman, of League City. She is also survived by four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Sheila was predeceased by her loving and devoted husband in 2009.
Sheila was an accomplished legal secretary and worked for many prestigious law firms in New York City during her long career. After relocating to Houston, Sheila continued to work for several years before deciding to retire. Sheila enjoyed very much doing volunteer work in her later years and volunteered at the Alley Theatre, Hobby Center, the Houston Ballet, and the Synagogue Beth Israel. In her spare time, Sheila enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a gifted pianist and was an avid book reader.
Sheila will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A graveside service with livestream for Sheila will be held Monday, February 14, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Emanu El Memorial Park, 8341 Bissonnet St, Houston, TX 77074. The link for the livestream is in the Services section below. Sheila will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Sidney.
